2021 Match Play Tie Breaker:

The course / club pro will not allow us to play extra holes for our Men’s Club Match Play.

This year we will use the following method to break a tie….

  • You will start by using the highest handicap hole (e.g. the 13th hole is the 18th handicap rated hole – i.e. easiest hole on the course),

whoever shot less “Net” that is the winner!

  • If that result is still a tie, you would go to the next lowest handicap hole (e.g. the 3rd hole – i.e. the second easiest hole on the course) and so on until a winner is declared.

  • If the match is tied entirely thru the 18 to the 1st handicap hole, then a coin flip will determine the winner.

See the chart below for the order for highest to lowest handicap rated holes:

The following assumptions have been made:

  • At the begin of the match you and your playing competitor have determined you’re Playing Handicap for that day for Aurora Hills Golf Course from the White Tees by checking the GHIN application online or asked Pro shop.

  • You have properly marked your score card which holes you get handicap strokes on, e.g.” popping out your score card” and your partner has done the same.

  • You understand the rules of match play.

  • You understand the definition of “Net score” Definition is the gross score (number of strokes actually taken) minus your handicap strokes given on that particular hole.
